Central Park Engagement Session | Ashley and Mario

Ashley and Mario’s engagement session was another Central Park photo session that went perfectly! The weather was ideal with slightly cloudy skies that gave us beautiful soft light to work with. Cloudy and overcast days are my favorite to work with because we are not limited to sticking to shaded areas to prevent overexposed parts of the image. While the bright and sunny skies are warm and pretty, soft even lighting that we usually get in the time following up to sunset works best for any portrait session.

We started the session around the Mall – the giant pathway in Central Park with tall symmetrical trees on either side. We continued around the Naumburg Bandshell and headed towards Bethesda Terrace and Bethesda Fountain, finally finishing up by Bow Bridge which is so popular for proposals and many movie scenes.

This was a mid-October session with Fall having just started so there was plenty of beautiful warm tones and colors in the trees, though full Fall colors usually don’t come out until November.
