Mavely and Carlos chose a beautiful location in Central Park for their engagement session. The area is by 105th St and 5th Avenue and is called the Conservatory Gardens. It is beautifully maintained year round much more than other areas of Central Park, which unfortunately means that a permit needs to be secured for commercial photography for anyone considering having their wedding or engagement session in this area.
We started by the Vanderbilt Gate which is the official entrance to the Conservatory Gardens. We walked through the gardens taking advantage of the stunning backdrop of flowers in full bloom.
Following the Conservatory Gardens, we took a walk outside the gardens into other areas of Central Park where Carlos showed his romanticism and serenaded Mavely with his guitar while they enjoyed a little picnic and a quick walk around the Harlem Meer.
After photographing in this area for about half an hour, we grabbed a classic yellow New York City taxi cab and headed over towards Lincoln Center. Lincoln Center was significant to Mavely and Carlos since that is where their relationship started! I love it when couples decide to incorporate locations that have some significance to their relationship. Unfortunately we did not have a permit for Lincoln Center, which was also required, but still managed to capture a stunning shot on the steps where a permit is not needed.
Here is what Mavely and Carlos had to say about their experience:
Jakub did an amazing job. He was on time, professional, and very nice. He listened to all our crazy ideas and gave great suggestions. The photos and the editing came out great and we had plenty of shots to choose from. Would definitely work with again.
