Iceland is a photographer’s paradise and on my recent visit I was extremely excited to photograph Gyda and Thormunder’s destination engagement session in Iceland.
Scrolling through this gallery you’ll find it hard to believe it was only 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2 Celsius)!
We had around 2-3 minutes for every shot before they both had to run back to the car and get bundled up to recover from the freezing cold. It was certainly not easy, but look at the spectacular results we were able to achieve!
Gyda and Thor are locals from Rejkavik which is where we met in the morning. The sun does not rise in the winter until around 10am and days are rather short this time of year (late November) but we still had an early start to the day as we headed towards Vik, aiming to get there just as the sun started to rise.
The drive out was around 2.5 hours and it was great chatting with them in the car to find out not only more about their relationship but also to hear more about Iceland and it’s culture and history from true locals. Our only conversation prior to this day was a rather quick one over Skype and I was looking forward to getting to know them more personally before the session started.
As we spent a few hours together driving around scenic locations I was in awe the entire time of the stunning landscapes that Iceland has to offer and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
Happy viewing!
