Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Tim and Stephanie’s surprise marriage proposal on Bow Bridge in Central Park. Spoiler: She said yes!
Bow Bridge in Central Park is a very popular location for surprise proposals and Tim planned his strategy perfectly! For a list of tips on planning your own surprise proposal in New York City take a look at this post I put together!
After Stephanie said yes I gave them a few moments of privacy to absorb everything that just happened and then we started their engagement session in Central Park. We took a walk from Bow Bridge around the lake and Loeb Boathouse, then walked up some paths for some beautiful fall foliage scenery. It was starting to get dark pretty fast so I came prepared with some lighting equipment I eventually pulled out when we arrived by Belvedere Castle.
When we started the engagement session by Belvedere Castle the sun had almost entirely set by then and we were also challenged by a lot of park visitors sitting in the background that I had to work around to make sure they did not appear in the photographs. What do you think of the creative lighting set up? Leave your opinions in the comments below!
After we wrapped up with photographing their engagement session by Belvedere Castle we walked towards Central Park West towards the Museum of Natural History where we squeezed in a few more photos before Tim and Stephanie took off for dinner to celebrate.
Which of the photos below do you prefer? The color or the black and white? I couldn’t decide so I posted both!
