Nicole and Justin's summer wedding at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Lakes, NJ, was a beautiful celebration filled with love, tradition, and elegance. As a Jewish couple, they incorporated meaningful customs into their special day, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Having photographed their proposal two years prior, this wedding held extra significance for me, as I had the privilege of capturing their journey from engagement to marriage.
The day began with Nicole getting ready in the opulent bridal suite of The Legacy Castle. The room, adorned with ornate curtains and gold accents, provided the perfect backdrop for her preparation. Surrounded by her mom, grandma, sister, and bridesmaids, Nicole looked stunning as she slipped into her wedding dress. The moment she stepped out of the suite, her father was waiting at the bottom of the stairs, his back turned, eager for their first look. The emotion in his reaction as he saw his daughter as a bride was truly heartwarming and beautifully captured in photos.
Meanwhile, Justin was in another suite, getting ready with his groomsmen. A barber had been brought in to give the groom and his friends fresh shape-ups, ensuring they all looked their best. Justin's details were meticulously photographed, including his Rolex watch and a necklace bearing the Hebrew symbol "חי," meaning "Life."
Once dressed, Justin made his way to the castle's main gate for the couple's first look. Nicole and Justin's families, along with the couple's bridal party, watched from the terrace above the courtyard as Nicole approached Justin and gently tapped his shoulder. The first look was emotional, ending in a tender kiss and a hug before we began the photo session. The couple's family and friends could be seen behind them, cheering them on from the terrace of The Legacy Castle.
We captured stunning wedding images of Nicole and Justin in the castle's courtyard, with the majestic gate and the grand facade of the castle serving as breathtaking backdrops. The bridal party joined us for photos on the steps in front of the castle, where the bridesmaids looked elegant in navy blue dresses, and the groomsmen were dapper in classic black tuxedos with bowties.
After capturing more photos inside the castle, particularly on the ornate staircase where Nicole's dress train was beautifully displayed, it was time for the couple's Ketubah signing. This intimate ceremony, attended by immediate family, marked the beginning of their official union.
The main ceremony took place on the terrace, overlooking the castle's courtyard. Under a beautifully adorned chuppah, Nicole and Justin exchanged vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony. The ceremony included the Kiddushin, the Sheva Brachot (Seven Blessings), and the symbolic circling, culminating in Justin breaking a glass as the guests erupted in cheers of "Mazel Tov!"
The reception that followed was nothing short of spectacular. Nicole and Justin made a grand entrance down a spotlighted staircase and went straight into their first dance, surrounded by indoor sparklers and a layer of fog that made it appear as though they were dancing on clouds. This magical moment was captured from above, creating a stunning visual.
The night continued with energetic and emotional dances shared between Nicole and her father, and Justin and his mother. The Sound Image Band and DJ Xclusive Productions kept the dancefloor alive, with a surprise performance by Justin and his groomsmen delighting Nicole and the guests.
As the reception drew to a close, the couple cut their wedding cake, and we finished the evening with a night photo of Nicole and Justin outside The Legacy Castle, the building beautifully illuminated behind them.
Their wedding day was a perfect blend of tradition, elegance, and personal touches, making it a celebration that will be cherished forever.
