General Advice for Beautiful Photos in Central Park
If you are wondering where to take wedding or engagement session photos in Central Park in NYC, the simple answer is really that there is beauty in every direction you look. Regardless of what areas you fall in love with, the secret ingredient to amazing images will be the time of day we photograph your session. The best quality of light will always be the early hours of the morning following sunrise or the last few hours of daylight leading up to and into sunset. These hours will fluctuate depending on time of year.
Aside from lighting that is the most flattering for photography, you may also consider early morning sessions starting at sunrise if it is important for you to utilize very popular areas that see the largest amounts of foot traffic such as Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace. Photographing this early before the park gets crowded is the best way to get lucky with empty backdrops which make it look like we have the park to ourselves.
If you are planning a wedding or elopement ceremony in the park, it is highly advisable to secure a permit for your desired ceremony location as soon as possible. While often not required, a permit will give you priority in the event there is another ceremony or session taking place. Permits are very affordable and mostly a formality for the majority of the park with the exception of Conservatory Gardens.
Regardless of what time we photograph, you can rely on my expert guidance to create stunning images you and your fiance will cherish forever.
