Photographing Victoria and Łukasz’s wedding was an unforgettable experience filled with rich Polish traditions and stunning locations that perfectly reflected their love story. The day began with bride prep in the luxurious penthouse suite of The William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The suite, with its grand design and breathtaking views, provided an ideal backdrop for capturing the elegance of Victoria’s wedding dress, which was displayed on a mannequin—a perfect touch that added a timeless feel to the photos.
Once Victoria was dressed, we took advantage of the penthouse terrace for some beautiful bridal portraits. The natural light and panoramic views of the city made these moments particularly striking. Meanwhile, across Brooklyn, my second photographer was capturing Łukasz’s preparation at his home. After getting dressed, Łukasz and his groomsmen made their way to Amber Steakhouse in Greenpoint, a place close to Łukasz’s heart as he owns the establishment. The classic interior of the steakhouse added a sophisticated touch to the photos of the groom and his entourage.
The next chapter of their day was steeped in tradition. Łukasz arrived at The William Vale Hotel for a special moment—a traditional Catholic Polish blessing known as "błogosławieństwo." In this intimate ceremony, Victoria and Łukasz knelt before their parents and grandparents, kissing a cross and receiving heartfelt blessings. This powerful moment was not only a significant part of their heritage but also a moving expression of their families' love and support.
Following the blessing, everyone made their way to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn—a place of deep significance to both the bride and groom. As a church they both grew up attending, it was a fitting location for their wedding ceremony. The church, with its beautiful architecture and spiritual significance, was the perfect setting for their vows. After the ceremony, we captured family photos within the church, preserving these precious moments with their loved ones.
Victoria and Łukasz’s love for their Brooklyn roots was evident throughout the day, especially during our visit to Peter Pan's Bakery, a beloved donut shop and café on Manhattan Avenue. Growing up in Greenpoint, this spot held special memories for the couple. We took playful photos inside the café, where Spiderman was famously filmed, and along the iconic street outside, including near the well-known clock tower. The spontaneous and joyful atmosphere of this session was a highlight of the day, complete with a donut snack for the road!
The celebration continued with a scenic drive out to Hempstead House in Sands Point Preserve Conservancy on Long Island. With its vast estate and grand mansion, Hempstead House in Sands Point Long Island offered a breathtaking setting for their wedding photo session with the bridal party. The stunning architecture and expansive landscapes provided a photographer’s dream, allowing us to create a series of timeless and elegant images that beautifully captured the essence of their day.
As the golden hour approached, we wrapped up our session and headed to Jericho Terrace, where the reception awaited. The venue was filled with lively energy, featuring traditional Polish music, known as disco polo, which got everyone on their feet. A special table showcased an array of Polish meats and salads, adding a deliciously authentic touch to the celebration.
Victoria and Łukasz’s wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, culture, and personal touches, and I am honored to have been a part of their special day. Their story, told through the lens, is one of love, heritage, and the beautiful intertwining of two lives deeply connected to their Polish roots and the vibrant community of Brooklyn.
